Week 6 of my course (ramble post)

6 week have gone by so fast, the make up course has been so fun and now I only have 2 week left now but thing are doing to be more stressed now because I have to think more and more on what I am got to do on both of my end course projects, also I need to work more on my sketch&cut-out book for the course so there some hard work ahead :).

On Monday we did the 40s-50s makeup, pin up style it is always fun do that kind of makeup and it's always classic. That kind of look you see it a lot on the red carpet, maybe with a new twists but still the base of the makeup is there. Doing red lips and eyeliner is something I am learning to do better and better. practice makes perfect :).

Photo of me after that class, what was done to me :)

On Tuesday it was the 60s and 70s the makeup from that time, the eyeliner crazy and sharp lines and edges, it was really interesting to that kind of makeup and a task that I think everyone had fun with doing there own thing using photo to go a little bit after with there own twist. I did my makeup because we are 13 in the course and so this happen to be me that was alone that time :).

Photo after that class :)

On Wednesday it was 80s and 90s , the teacher showed us both version of makeup and hair. We all did crazy and color full and with teased hair and stuff, all the color of the rainbow almost. I just started with doing very pink sharp cheeks and on from there I used a very pink color both on the cheek and all the way to the brow bone then I used yellow, bright blue and a purple to blend the blue and the pink together. The yellow color and the pink one blended to a orange color. It what a really creative and fun.

On Thursday we brought a ''model'' with us and where doing one of the timeframe makeup we learn this past week. I decided to do the 50's style makeup. It as the parts that I need some practice in. It took an hour and 40 minutes , so that I need to work on as well. All in all it went great.

Monthly favorites (January 2013)

In the month of January I started a make up course. so I was not wearing much makeup on the week days. I also got my hair cut and got some things for my hair. It's been a busy but fun month for me, trying new thing and stuff. I hope you had a great month :).

This month

What and Why

Moroccanoil. So I cut my hair this month, just cutting of split ends but my hair is still a little damaged. I have been putting this product in the ends of my hair after my showers and this has made my hair so shiny and healthy looking. It smells nice, not to strong or anything.

L'oreal True match foundation. I have had this for some time and I have always liked it but never grabbed for it. This month I started using it with my beauty blender when I was wearing make up. It has medium coverage but you can build it up. If you're looking for a good drugstore foundation, this is a pretty good one :).

Mac lipstick in Chatterbox.  This is a bright red-pink. I bought this lipstick in the beginning of the month and it has been my go-to lipstick. I like it both for a daytime look and also for nighttime. It is so creamy and not dry at all.

OPI Nail polish in Princesses Rule. This is a sheer shimmery pink with a little white reflectant. I have been wearing this as a everyday nail polish and I think it goes with almost everything. I love this as a go-to nail polish and I would buy this again.

Beauty blender. This has become one my favorite make up tools. It helps make my foundation go on so smoothly. The sponge is more vibrant pink in person and when I got it I was surprised by the color and also by how bouncy it is. If you're looking for a easy way to put on your foundation this is a great tool for that.

Maybelline Eyestudio palette in Give me gold. This is what I have been grabbing for this month when I do my eyes, not always the same look but I have been doing lots of looks just with this palette and maybe with a black eyeliner. I have had this for a long time and hit pan on top of the shadows I like it that much :)

I hope you liked this post, please leave me a comment and tell me what you think :D.

Nails of the week (week 11)

This week I did my nails with glitter and flower nail stickers. I have had these stickers for some time now without using them. so I decided to use them for this weeks nails. I think they came out great. This was an easy nail job, I have been so busy lately and have been trying to get the blog back on track. I am doing my best on that :)

What I used
From the left: Max factor nail polish (31 Satsuma), Depend nail polish (Nr.279)

base and top coat
Sossi (Nail strengthener)

The stickers

How I did it

1. Start out with clean nails with nothing on them.
2. Put on a base coat to protect the nails from damage and let dry.
3. Put two coat of the orange polish on and then let dry.
4. Take the golden glitter polish and make a dot on where you want to put the flower (sticker) then dag it so it fades out and then let dry.
5. Put on the sticker in the middle of the glitter spot.
6. The last thing is to put on the top coat and let dry.

Week 5 of my course (ramble post)

On last Thursday we were doing mens and older women's make up so we brought with us men and older women. The teacher talked to us first and we took so note then the ''models'' came in and we did their makeup, first the guys then the lady's. I will not be posting photos of that.

On Monday we had spfx class and it was so fun putting on fake blood and making scars. Your task was doing prostitute make up and making it look like ,,we'' were beaten up. It was different from doing well done makeup, doing kind everything we were being taught not to do.

Here is a photo of me with the spfx makeup on after (a girl in my class did it on me )

(weird face hahaha )

On Tuesday we learn how to do tv (news) makeup which is basically beauty makeup just heavier, matte and dark lips. There are so many lights on you when you're on Tv so it washes of the color so much.

On Wednesday we brought ''models'' with us to do tv make up and hair and try to do it all in an hour. I did it in an hour and a half so I need to improve my time :)

Here is a photo of my friend with ''Tv'' makeup on

On Tuesday we learn 20's and 30's makeup and what women were doing at that time it was so fun. the teacher brought props with her so we got to dress up a little bit with some pearls, hair pieces and glittery old dresses.

That was my week :) short but sweet :D

Nail of the week (week 10)

(bad photo :S )

This week I did my nails by making the steps of the look as I went along, it was really fun doing it that way: I think the red I used is a limited edition color but it's not the color that matters the most, you can always use what you have you don't have to have this one :)

What I used

from the left: O.P.I.(love is a racket) Make up store(Olle) Bourjois nail polish (Blanc glamour)

Base&top coat
Sossi (Garlic strengthener)
How I did it

1. I started of with clean nails with nothing on them.
2. Put on a base coat and let dry.
3. Two coats of the red polish and let dry.
4. Using a gold polish, paint half of the nail and put on another coat if needed and let dry.
5. Make three white line on the gold from the middle and drag in a little downwards and let dry.
6. Put on a top coat and let dry.

I hope that you liked this, please leave a comment and tell me what you think :)

Update on the Make up course (ramble post)

Last Thursday I did my friends makeup in the bring-your-friend-to-be-your-model-so-you-can-do-her-makeup-and-hair type of classthing, let just call it model class or something. Anyways I was supposed to do bridal makeup and hair and bring a reference photo. I found a really nice photo for the make up but I wasn't happy with the photo I had for the hair (it was more of a inspiration ) so I did the hair a little different from the photo. We where also supposed to bring some bridal accessory I had nothing so I bought fake white flowers not on their stems and glued them to the ends of bobbypins. I curled the hair and took some of the front pieces and pinned them back with gold bobbypins (note I learned that the pins are not suppose to be seen, so I know that next time) and put the pins in with the flower on the back of the head, one with a smaller flower in the middle and two large ones on each side of the smaller one.

The photo of the bridal make up/hair

The hair pin that I made for this

Now I'm in week four.
Monday a photographer and a stylist came and talk to us about thing we might need to know. Also in that class we got a photo with a rip of face and used that to do the makeup that we thought would match the look of the photo. We got to see the photo whole at the end and mine turned out different that what I did but it would both match :)

Tuesday was catwalk and the exercise was that we looked for catwalk inspiration and did the makeup in an hour then switch then switch again for 10 min to fix if we needed to fix something.

Wednesday we were doing catwalk makeup again but this time we brought a photo of make up and hair. We were supposed to do it exactly like the photo. It was fun but also it was stressful to make it right, I did mine just fine :)

I hope you like it :)

Goals for the year (January/February)

January

I did most of the goal of this month but I did do videos, I didn´t have time for that :s. I was so busy with the course I´m taking and all that. also I didn´t sort my room but I think that may be a task for next month :).

February

This month will be busy too, I have 2 final exams (in the make up course) at the end of the month a beauty one and a fashion one. I might be taking my driving test this month also. I am going to try to use all of my time and do something useful not sit around and do nothing :)

  • Do a post every other day
  • Do a video at least
  • Sort my room
  • Go to the gym 2-5 times a week
  • Wake up early
  • Change my food habits
  • Read a book
  • Start using a running app program
  • Drink more water to feel better
*It's best to be specific with your goals, so you're more likely to do them.

I hope you like this post :)

Nail polish love (Product love)

I bought the O.P.I Liquid sand polish in The Impossible, it's a pinkish red with holographic sparkle, it also has star shapes and circle shapes (holographic too). It had a sandy texture (like putting sand on wet nail polish) that makes it different from my other nail polishes and I like trying new things. I recommend this to anyone that wants to try out something different and fun, also check out the other colors that they have in the Liquid sand line they're all so pretty :)

Nails of the week (week 9)

This week I did my nails inspired my Gir from The invader Zim (the cartoon show) in his dog costume. It´s a easy nail design. When I look at my nails with this design on it brings a smile to my face and that can make my day.

Right: Ciaté(Mojito 019), O.P.I(Alpine snow), Ciaté(Ghetto fabulous 017),L.A. color art deco (Black)

Base&Top coat

Tools

I use a dotting tool and a striper polish(Art deco) but you can use a tooth pick or a bobby pin as tools you don't need what I used to do this :)

How I did it

1. Start with clean nails with nothing on them.
2. Then put on a base coat and let dry.
3. Put on two coats of the green polish and let dry.
4. Make two black dots on the middle of the nails for the eyes and let dry.
5. Start making little lines like seams in the middle of the nails and then make a line for a nose in the middle of the seam line and let dry.
6. Dot the black dot with the white polish so the black polish looks like outlines around the white and let dry.
7. Take a tooth pick or something pointy and put a black dot in the middle of the white dot for the eyes and let dry.
8. Put on a top coat to seal the design in and let dry.

Makeup course update (ramble post)

This week is my 3rd week of the makeup artist course and what we are learning now is how to do hair (just a little) and bridal make up. Yesterday I was supposed to bring a friend and do her makeup and hair. I'm not good at doing hair at all, so I did my best but it all took a lot of time (I was one of the last ones there). Tomorrow I will also bring a model to class and I will be doing bridal makeup and hair.
This will be my 3rd one and we can take with us photos that kind of inspire us (hair and makeup), a lot going on for me.

Photos of the ''model classes''

First time

Second time

Hair and makeup (kind of a old glam look)

About the nail post

So I didn't do a nail post this week, I am sorry about that but I will be doing it next week instead :) I haven't been feeling well, and there's also been a lot going on, and I know that's not a good excuse but I am really giving this blog my all. I am going to be back on track next week.

Till the next time :)

Starting my makeup course (ramble post)

This is a little update of what we've been doing these days.

So I started my makeup artist course on January 7th. I have classes in the evening, from Monday to Thursday (8 week course). I really like what we are learning and I feel that this is what I want to do for a living. I got a really good kit with a lot of Mac products, it has the basic things we need so we can always add to it. We can also bring makeup that we had before, I brought some stuff that I already had, some stuff from Mac, my naked palettes and so on. I'm using one of my best friends as a model tomorrow, it's the first time in the course that we bring a person to model for us and do their makeup. So far we have just been doing the makeup on classmates so this will be kind of fun and different. I'm learning new tricks for doing makeup and learning how to make some things easier. It's only been two weeks now so I'm not finished yet. I'll do an update and say what else has been going on, but for now I think this is good time to stop writing.

Here is a picture of my station from the other day

A little haul

My little haul

So this is my first haul blog post so bear with me :).
so there's this beauty website called beautybay, I have ordered there before, buying the Naked and the Naked 2 palette and some other things. I get emails from them telling me about sales and that kind of stuff. I got an email on my birthday (31st Dec.) saying that because it was my birthday they were giving me a coupon code for 10% off that would last till the following week. I went on the site the next day and I saw they were having a sale and also that they had the Naked basics palette and I had been waiting for it. I bought the Naked basics palette and the Beauty blender (the bright pink one), I also got the Premier Service which is like 2 pounds or something (you get a free random sample with that :))

What I got

The sample I got

I got a sample of a leave in conditioner (for all types of hair) from Milk_shake.
I tried it a little and it's really nice and it smells like a candle from Bath and body works called Homemade cookies if you need a smell reference :).

Well this is my first haul :)
I hope you liked it, please leave a comment and tell me what you think :)

Nails of the week (week 8)

This week I did my nails in a pink, silver and with black. I don't know how this look came up but when I started thinking about a design this came in to my head. I used a light pink on my index finger to mix up the design but the color smudged a little, because it wasn't drying like the other polish, that's why that finger looks weird on the photo.

What I used

From the left:Chanel nail polish(529 Graphite) ,Ciaté nail polish (strawberry milkshake),depend (nr 034),L.A.colors Art deco (black)

Base&top coat

How I did it

1. Start of with clear nail with no nail polish on.
2. Put on a base coat to protect the nails.
3. Put two coats of the pink polish (the light or the darker one) and let dry.
4. Take the black stripe polish and start making a triangle shape at the base of the nail and let it narrow down, and let dry.
5. Fill it in with black and let dry.
6.  Take the silver glitter polish and line the outline of the triangle and let dry.
7. Finish of by putting on a top coat to seal in the design and let dry.

Hope you liked it :) leave a comment and tell me what you think that would mean a lot to me :D
'Till next time :)
